A’ja Wilson drops eyebrow-raising analogy after Mercury win

The Las Vegas Aces are white-hot right now, winning their sixth game in a row on Friday against the Phoenix Mercury.

Once again, A’ja Wilson was a driving force for the Aces in their victory, putting up 30 points and 16 rebounds on the Mercury. It was the seventh time Wilson put up 30 points in a game this season, as well as her 16th double-double. The last time she did both was on Aug. 10 against the Connecticut Sun, when her 32 point, 20 rebound performance was the first 30-20 double-double in WNBA history.

While Wilson has earned plenty of MVP buzz for her recent play, what has drawn attention to her recently is what she said after Friday’s game.

Wilson’s interesting comments are making the rounds on social media.

When asked about how Wilson allows the game to come to her instead of forcing a shot, the three-time MVP made quite the comparison, to say the very least.

“And I told myself after (the) All-Star break to just let the game come to me, like it’s gonna be what it’s gonna be,” Wilson said postgame. “If I try (to) force it because I want this win so bad for my team, it’s like forcing a fart. All you get is s***.”

The analogy shocked Aces guard Chelsea Gray, who was joining Wilson in her press conference after posting 16 points and nine assists on Friday.

”That’s gonna go viral,” Gray responded after Wilson finished her answer.

It is clear the Aces are playing their best basketball at this point, and optimism in the locker room is at a season-high point.

Not only did Friday’s victory mark the Aces’ sixth win in a row, but it was also their eighth victory in the last nine games. The recent hot streak has pushed the Aces from the playoff bubble to firmly in the picture, tying the Mercury for the fourth overall seed.

Wilson has been a major part of that success, questionable postgame interviews and all.
