Las Vegas Aces star and the WNBA’s reigning MVP, A’ja Wilson has come to an agreement with Nike on a 6-year contract extension.
The contract extension is one of the biggest all-time shoe deals for a women’s basketball player.
Wilson is coming off of her seventh year in the league, winning her third MVP award and a gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Wilson is only the fourth player to conquer that feat.
Before the Olympics, Wilson was named one of Nike’s signature athletes. She is set to have a shoe released in the spring of 2025. She signed with Nike as a rookie in 2018.
This new deal ranks as one of “the highest-paid shoe endorsements in the sport,” per Charnia. This ranks near Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu, both are signed with Nike.
Last season, Wilson averaged a career-high 26.9 points per game and 11.9 assists. The Aces quest for a third WNBA title came up short in the playoffs against the New York Liberty in a best-of-five series.
Wilson reacted to her new deal Tuesday on her Instagram page.
