A'ja Wilson's place at the top of the women's basketball hierarchy was confirmed with the news that she signed a six-year contract extension with Nike.

It is described as "one of the richest shoe deals for a women's basketball player," by ESPN's Shams Charania, who broke the news on Tuesday.

Wilson is a three-time WNBA MVP and a two-time WNBA champion with the Las Vegas Aces. She was unanimously voted league MVP in September a month after leading Team USA to a gold medal (and more MVP honors) at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The 28-year-old's triumphant message on Instagram after revealing the Nike news was fitting of a player at the top of her game.

"Just do it x6," Wilson wrote on her Instagram story with a set of emojis. "Top Tier Blessings."

She went onto post several more stories and a slideshow of photos to her 1.3 million followers on the platform celebrating the seismic brand deal.

Her signature shoe, the "A'One," is set be released in spring 2025 prior to the upcoming WNBA season.

The specific dollar value of the contract was not included in ESPN's report, but Charania confirmed that it ranked among Nike's highest-paid shoe endorsements for women's basketball players such as Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, New York Liberty's Sabrina Ionescu and college basketball star JuJu Watkins.

For reference, the eight-year contract Clark signed with Nike in April is reportedly worth $28 million, per Associated Press.
