A'ja Wilson's Gesture Toward Caitlin Clark Catches Attention

Caitlin Clark was ruled out for the WNBA All-Star Game due to injury. Despite that, she was still present for the festivities and joined her team in the pregame preparations and during the game itself.

Clark, who was the captain of her own team after getting the most fan votes, took part in the All-Star team photoshoot ahead of the contest on Saturday. In a video of the session that is now trending online, the Indiana Fever star was seen standing on the far right side as the players prepared for their photos to be taken.

The 23-year-old guard, however, was asked to sit in the middle — likely because she was still the captain despite not playing in the game. New York Liberty star and two-time 3-Point Contest champion Sabrina Ionescu then swapped places with Clark.

Interestingly, what stood out to fans was A'ja Wilson's gesture toward Clark. After the Indiana star was asked to sit in the middle, the Las Vegas Aces forward clapped and tapped the seat to hype up Clark.

Fans loved what A'ja Wilson did and took to the comments to share their reactions.

"Yeah (Aja) she even clapped to Caitlin..." a commenter wrote. A supporter noticed, "'Hell yeah, cait' - Aja hyping up and clapping for CC."

"Aja and Sabrina are two players anyone would want to have on their women’s basketball team. Idk anyone who has an issue with them," a fan added. Another one shared, "That was nice. Aja’s reaction was just classy."

"Loved seeing A’ja’s reaction and Sabrina’s simple gesture tells us all we need to know about her character, too. A’ja & Sabrina understand that Caitlin’s incredible impact on the league will only let people get to see how immensely talented they are too," a follower stated.

A sixth poster remarked, "aja patting the chair for caitlin means she really not into social media making them enemy."

What Injury Did Caitlin Clark Have?

Unfortunately for Clark and her All-Star team, they ended up losing 151-131. As mentioned, the Fever star was not able to play in the game and only served as an assistant coach to support and cheer for her team.

Clark has been diagnosed with a right groin injury, which she picked up during Tuesday's game against the Connecticut Sun. She missed their game against the New York Liberty as a result, and she also had to back out of the WNBA 3-Point Contest.
