Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston was supposed to be part of the Team USA roster in the FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament. She averaged 15.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals in the 2025 WNBA season, showing she is one of the best centers in women's basketball today.
Unfortunately, a lower-body injury during her run in the 2026 Unrivaled season forced her to be sidelined and led to her removal from the national team lineup.
On Wednesday, Team USA kicked off the World Cup qualifiers with a dominant win against Senegal, 110-46.
During the game, Caitlin Clark impressed with 17 points on 4-of-5 shooting along with 12 assists. According to FIBA, the Fever guard's assist output is the second most in the history of the qualifying tournament.
Despite missing her chance to play alongside Clark on the Team USA roster, Boston remains supportive of her Indiana teammate. After seeing the Fever's post about Clark's stats, AB shared it on her Instagram Stories and expressed her amazement.
"Who's surprised?" Boston wrote, along with two star-struck emojis.

Clark certainly proved that she belongs on Team USA. While she didn't start the game, her shooting and playmaking have led to demands for her to get the starting nod in the squad's next game.
As for Boston, it's safe to assume that she'll remain tuned in to Team USA's games throughout the qualifiers and will keep cheering for Clark.
Team USA plays Puerto Rico next followed by showdowns against Italy, New Zealand and Spain.
