After not being selected in Monday night's WNBA Draft, now-former University of Minnesota guard Amaya Battle has latched on with the Lynx.
Battle has agreed to a training camp contract that will give her a chance to make the team before the regular season begins on May 10, the Gophers announced Tuesday.
Up for grabs is one of 12 roster spots, though she could also land one of two additional spots that are reserved for developmental players.
Likely roster locks on the Lynx:
That means these players are fighting for five roster spots, plus two developmental slots:
Battle, a 5-foot-11 guard who went to Hopkins High School, helped the Gophers receive a No. 4 seed and reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Their tourney run came to an end in the Sweet 16 against national champion UCLA.
She was named to the All-Big Ten Defensive Team, as voted on by the coaches. The media and coaches voted her onto the All-Big Ten Third Team. She finished her Gophers career with 1,533 points, 776 rebounds, and 599 assists. She ranks 11th all-time in Gophers scoring, 10th in rebounds, and second in assists (one place ahead of Lindsay Whalen).
The Lynx are scheduled to open training camp on April 19.
