Chicago Sky star Angel Reese led the team in rebounds as usual on Thursday, with nine against the Dallas Wings at home. The difference for this season is that it came in a win, as the team lost its first four games.

The Sky beat the Wings 97-92, anchored by a career-high 23 points (9-13 FG) from second-year center Kamilla Cardoso. The native Brazilian added eight rebounds, and club legend Courtney Vandersloot notched 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-1 3 PT) with a team-high nine assists and five steals.

Reese scored just six points (2-6 FG), but added five assists against just two turnovers to go with her nine boards. Chicago coach Tyler Marsh sounded off postgame about the 23-year-old finding other ways to contribute besides scoring, via the team's social media.

"I think that's who Angel is, in the best way. That's what her skill set allows her to be," he said. "We shouldn't just look at her as a rebounder or just as a scorer. There are so many different things that she can do on the court that help a team win."

"Even though shots weren't falling for her tonight, she had five assists, she had huge rebounds down the stretch," he continued. "That's the kind of versatility that we see in her, and she's embraced it so far."

The Sky will face the Wings again on Saturday, this time on the road. After that, they'll host the Indiana Fever before playing away games vs. the New York Liberty and Atlanta Dream.
