Angel Reese is one of the brightest young talents in the WNBA today. A two-time All-Star in as many seasons in the pro, she has already established herself as a rebounding and double-double machine.
The Sky forward led the league in rebounds per game with 13.1 in her rookie season. She also set a record when she tallied 15 straight double-doubles in the same year, surpassing Candace Parker's previous tally of 12.
In her second year in the pros, Reese has remained her dominant self, averaging 14.4 points and 12.3 rebounds. She remains the league leader in rebounds per game.
On Thursday, as the Sky faced the reigning champions New York Liberty, Reese impressed once again with a monster double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. She shot 6-for-9 from the field, helping Chicago win 91-85.
Despite her brilliant performance, Reese doesn't expect her haters and doubters to change their minds about her.
Reese's offensive efficiency has always been questioned, with many even saying that she misses a lot of her layups and that she only gets a lot of rebounds because she grabs her own misses. It is worth noting that the 23-year-old has improved her shooting this 2025, from 39.1% in her first year to 46.2%.
After a fan pointed out that she only had three misses against the Liberty and that she's killing her critics' "efficiency debates," Reese couldn't help but respond. She has already accepted the fact that those who hate her will find a way to criticize her regardless of what she does.
"THEY GON COME UP WIT SOMETHING NEW," Reese wrote, before adding, "IT'S OK."
Angel Reese is already used to her haters and doubters. This is what she said after her efficient game in the Sky's win against the Liberty.

Unfortunately for Reese, while the Sky were able to beat the Liberty, they have already been eliminated from playoff contention. The Dallas Wings' loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday meant that they no longer have a shot at finishing in the top eight for a postseason berth.
Regardless, Reese has plenty to play for this campaign. With nine games left, the Sky still have a chance to end the frustrating campaign on a good note and surpass their win-loss tally from last season.
Chicago had a 13-27 record in 2024. The Sky, now under head coach Tyler Marsh, improved to 9-27 on the year following their latest win.
Reese is also on track to have another 400-rebound season — something that no player has never been done before.
That being said, Reese has an opportunity to make more history and prove her doubters wrong.
