Angel Reese is now headed to her first WNBA Finals with the Atlanta Dream after the team swept the New York Liberty in the semifinals.
Atlanta closed out its series with the Liberty in Game 3 on Friday, winning 85-83. Reese led the way with a team-high 22 points, along with nine rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks.
Across the three games of the series, Reese averaged 20.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.3 blocks.
Following the victory, Reese posted on social media to celebrate the Dream’s latest accomplishment.
“ROUND 2: Sweep loaded with blessings, sent some rejections & we even packed up some lemon pepper selections,” Reese wrote on Instagram, along with several photos of herself and her teammates taken during their playoff series with the Liberty.
Reese’s post garnered plenty of reactions, including one from Dream teammate DeWanna Bonner.
Bonner even gave Reese a new nickname in honor of her first trip to the league’s biggest stage.
“FINALS BARBIE!!” Bonner said.
Notably, Bonner wasn’t the only one to use that nickname for Reese. Los Angeles Sparks forward Aaliyah Nye had the same message, writing, “Can’t wait to see Finals Barbieee.”
Others gave Reese new nicknames as well, with Nneka Ogwumike calling her “BIG BARBIE.”
The Dream will face the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA Finals. With the championship series ahead, plenty of eyes will be on Reese and how she performs for Atlanta in its bid to win its first title in franchise history.
