Chicago Sky star Angel Reese wasn't exactly in the news for many good reasons near the end of her team's 2025 campaign. But with the Sky's season now over, she's looking back on the year that was and firing back at some of her critics.

On the latest edition of her Unapologetically Angel podcast, Reese went after people who have criticized her over her "Mebounds" - offensive rebounds of her own shots - by starting her own merchandise line around the term. She announced that the sales of her "Mebounds" line has done "six figures plus" of sales.

"So the Mebounds, if you know, you know. They tried to clown me for the rebounds. And what did I do? I made it a bag off of it. Six figures plus. Thank you. So y'all can try again 'cause I do need another idea for some more colorways. So just keep it coming," Reese declared.

Applause for Reese

While plenty of people still have complaints about Reese and always will, Reese's merch sale announcement was a real moment for her fans to enjoy some moments in the sun:

"Angel Reese flipped the script on haters who mocked her "mebounds" rebounding her own misses trade marked the term, dropped merch like hoodies, tees, and hats, and raked in six figures-plus in sales. Proceeds partly fund her foundation's fight against cyberbullying," one user wrote on X.

"Say what you want ever since Reese and Clarke got in the league, they have been making a bag off the court. That's why you got some chicks in the WNBA telling the commissioner to pay up cause some of these girls don’t need this league at all . They paying them chump change while making millions off the court," another remarked.

"Talk about leveling up. She really turned it into a whole brand," a third wrote.

Struggles in 2025

Reese’s 2025 campaign with the Chicago Sky was a mixed bag of individual dominance and team disappointment. She averaged 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, registering a league-leading 23 double-doubles in 30 appearances. She also became the fastest player ever to reach 500 points and 500 rebounds and delivered a standout triple-double (11–13–11) versus Connecticut, becoming the third-fastest in WNBA history to do so. Her efforts earned her a second All-Star nod and further cemented her reputation as a two-way force in the league.

However, Reese’s brilliance couldn’t lift the Sky past a challenging season. Chicago posted a league-worst 10–34 record and missed the playoffs, triggering public frustration from Reese. She openly challenged the franchise’s roster direction—hinting at potential departure—later apologized after earning a half-game suspension, and sat out the season’s final games citing a back issue. The season ended with questions looming about her future in Chicago and whether the Sky can build around their rising star.
