Angel Reese Getting Praised For 1.7 Million Lead Over Caitlin Clark

Since the 2024 draft class joined the league last season, including Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, attention toward the WNBA has been at an all-time high.

Both stars set records on the court. Clark became the WNBA's all-time leader in single-season assists, while Reese set a record for most consecutive double-doubles.

While both players have impressed on the court, Clark holds the edge off it, setting multiple attendance and viewership records. The former Iowa star even helped the Fever set a single-season record for home attendance with 340,715 fans.

But Reese holds a major off-court edge when it comes to social media. She boasts 4.9 million Instagram followers, 1.7 million more than Clark’s 3.2 million. Reese also leads on X, with 690,000 followers to the Fever star's 515,300.

The next two players leading the WNBA in Instagram followers are Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers with 2.6 million and New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu with 1.4 million.

Still, WNBA fans couldn't help but praise Reese for her giant social media lead over Clark, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.

"doesn’t surprise me, angel reese is the face of the league," one fan claimed.

"Angel’s reach is beyond the WNBA at this point," added another.

"People are watching because if her too," said a third.

"Angel Reese is bigger than the WNBA," wrote a fourth.

"we the face of the league," commented a fifth.

"Angel has more followers than the WNBA," posted a sixth.

Clark and Reese have both had unfortunate starts to their second seasons. Clark suffered a left quad strain that will keep her out until at least June 10, while the Sky have dropped to 0-4 to begin the year.

Still, it was Clark and the Fever that got the best of Reese and the Sky in the season opener, walking away with a 93-58 win.
