WNBA superstar Angel Reese has had a busy offseason. The former No. 7 pick’s popularity grew beyond the league in the last two years. More than a professional player, she has transitioned into a businesswoman, while continuing to compete in the W.

Reese’s offseason moves confirmed that she is playing the long game and thinking of her life after her time in the league is over. On Tuesday, it was announced that she was joining a prospective ownership group that’s looking to bring a Women’s National Basketball League franchise to Brisbane. She’s joined by the likes of Jason Levien and Ben Haan.

The WNBL is a women’s professional basketball league in Australia that currently consists of 9 teams.

The player shared a message on social media to tell people not to sleep on women’s sports and continue to support them.

“Let’s go! Invest in women’s sports! ,” the Chicago Sky star tweeted.

Angel Reese joined multiple stars with a stake in professional sports teams in the United States and around the world. Bullets CEO Malcolm Watts thinks that Reese’s involvement with the team can have a big impact on the team’s popularity.

“Angel is a fantastic ambassador for basketball and a globally recognised superstar,” Watts said.

“Basketball is Queensland’s fastest growing sport, and that is a powerful message for kids picking up a basketball in Brisbane.”

Reese made headlines in recent weeks. She was emotional while watching her brother, Julian, play in the NBA with the Washington Wizards.

Additionally, she joined other WNBA stars on the Team USA women’s basketball team for the FIBA World Cup Qualifying Tournament, which starts on Wednesday.
