Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky continued their struggles to begin the 2025 WNBA season, falling to 2-6 on the year.
On Tuesday night, Reese and the Sky were handed an 85-66 loss by Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty.
Reese, the former LSU Tigers forward, finished the loss with her fourth double-double of the season, tallying 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting and 11 rebounds. Ionescu added a game-high 23 points and seven assists.
With that performance, Reese recorded the 30th double-double of her two-year WNBA career, becoming the fastest player in league history to reach 30 or more double-doubles, according to Polymarket Hoops. She accomplished the feat in just 42 games.

The previous record holder for fastest player to reach 30 double-doubles belonged to Connecticut Sun forward Tina Charles, who achieved this in her first 47 career WNBA games.
Not only did Reese break Charles' record, but she also moved up the WNBA's all-time double-doubles list . The Sky forward now ties former Detroit Shock forward Swin Cash for the 41st most. Reese also only needs one double-double to tie Minnesota Lynx legend Maya Moore, who recorded 31 double-doubles in her career.
Compared to her rookie season in 2024, Reese was having a down year prior to facing the Liberty. Through Chicago's first seven games, she was averaging 9.1 points on 30.9% shooting and 12.3 rebounds, both lower than last year's totals.
The Sky fell to 2-6 with the loss and are now in the middle of a two-game losing streak. They will get a chance to right the ship in their next game on Friday, facing Brittney Griner and the Atlanta Dream.
