This Saturday's rivalry game between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese lived up to the hype.

Clark and Reese have been rivals since their showdown in the 2023 national championship game. The LSU star escalated matters by showboating in front of the Iowa legend's face. Clark got her revenge the following year by knocking LSU out of the NCAA Tournament.

During the 2024 WNBA season, Reese made headlines for suggesting she should receive as much credit as Clark for making women's basketball more popular.

"The reason why we're watching women's basketball is not just because of one person," Reese said. "It's because of me, too. I want y'all to realize that."

Even though Clark and Reese have said the right things this offseason, it didn't take long for bad blood to spill onto the court this Saturday.

During the third quarter of the Sky-Fever game, Clark fouled Reese as she was attempting a layup. It was a hard foul that was eventually upgraded to a Flagrant 1.

That wasn't the big story though.

Immediately after Clark shoved Reese to the ground, she got up and tried to confront her. It legitimately looked like a brawl was about to break out.

The referees gave Angel Reese and Aaliyah Boston technical fouls for their roles in this altercation.

While fans can certainly debate the foul call, you got to give the officials credit for defusing this situation.

As for Clark and Reese, we can't wait to hear what they say during their postgame interviews.
