Angel Reese etched her name deeper into WNBA history on Tuesday night in the Chicago Sky's 97-86 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.
During the game, Reese recorded yet another career double-double, scoring 18 points along with 17 rebounds, officially surpassing Candace Parker for the second-most double-doubles in a player's first two WNBA seasons, now ranking only behind Tina Charles.
In her rookie year, Reese set franchise and rookie records for rebounds (446) and double-doubles (26) in a season, earning All-Rookie and an All-Star appearance.
She also became the first rookie to have a double-double in an All-Star game (12 points, 11 rebounds).
This latest breakthrough further establishes her as Chicago’s future centerpiece and one of the league’s elite young talents.

Both of these feats arrive amidst an otherwise challenging season for the Sky, a 4‑10 record and 5th-place finish in the Eastern Conference as of Tuesday.
The team has struggled with defensive lapses and turnovers, exemplified by a recent 21-point loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday, where they failed to contain 3-point shooting and turned the ball over 21 times.
Chicago’s season has also been derailed by the loss of veteran point guard Courtney Vandersloot to a torn ACL, robbing the team of its playmaking leader.
In her absence, the Sky have leaned on first-year guard Hailey Van Lith alongside key offseason addition Ariel Atkins, traded in February, to steady the ship.
Yet, amid the turmoil, Reese has been a blooming bright spot.
She currently leads the league in rebounds per game (11.9) and, on May 27, surpassed Charles as the fastest player to record 500 points and 500 rebounds, doing so in just 38 games.
