Angel Reese Reacts to Career Announcement Away From WNBA

Angel Reese is coming off a memorable debut tournament for the senior team of USA Basketball. The Chicago Sky star played in all five games for Team USA at the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Reese averaged 6.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 16.7 minutes per contest. She helped lead the U.S. to an unblemished 5-0 record in the qualifiers. The 6-foot-3 forward was also named one of the finalists for the tournament’s Most Valuable Player title.

Reese is now back in the United States after a successful tournament. The two-time WNBA All-Star is now returning to her usual routine back home.

Reese has become one of the biggest names in the WNBA today. She’s met a lot of people on her way to the top, including American rapper Alyssa Michelle Stephens, aka Latto.

Reese and Latto’s friendship is much deeper than just a celebrity link-up. They have been very supportive of each other’s careers. Latto has attended Reese’s WNBA games with the Sky. Reese is also a regular fixture on the hip-hop star’s social media posts.

Reese also posts about Latto regularly. In fact, the 23-year-old took to social media on Thursday to show her support following Latto’s career announcement.

Latto announced the release of her new album, “BIG MAMA,” on May 29. The first single from the new album, “Business & Personal (intro)” is now available on streaming platforms.

Reese had an emotional reaction to her good friend’s announcement.

“‘Brook the tallest fine shi to touch the net since Angel’ ” Reese posted, sharing a shoutout from one of Latto’s song lyrics.

Reese is clearly proud of Latto ahead of the release of the latter’s fourth studio album.

As for her basketball, Reese will soon start her preparations for the new WNBA season with the Sky. After the league and the players’ union completed their negotiations on a new CBA, the season will push through as scheduled.

Reese and Co. open their season on May 9 against one of the 2026 expansion teams, the Portland Fire.
