Angel Reese Reveals What She Did Differently in Historic Chicago Sky Game

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has been a double-double machine since arriving in the WNBA in 2024. On Sunday, however, she transformed into "Triple-Double Barbie" with a career-high in assists.

Against the Connecticut Sun, Reese put up 11 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists. In doing so, the 23-year-old became the youngest forward/center to record a triple-double in WNBA history.

Reese is also only the second player to have a triple-double this 2025, joining Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark who did it against the Sky in their season opener.

To make it even better, the Sky emerged victorious 78-66, giving them their third win of the season and first against a team other than the Dallas Wings.

Speaking to reporters postgame, Reese opened up about her playmaking that allowed her to reach the statistical feat. According to her, she was focused on taking care of the ball and making "easier" passes.

"Tonight I tried to not turn the ball over as much and make the right pass, and not always try to make the fancy pass but make the easier pass," Reese explained, before also giving credit to her teammates for making shots.

Prior to Sunday's showdown, the most assists Angel Reese had in a game was five, which she did twice ( against the Fever in 2024 and against the Wings this campaign).

Reese was also averaging 3.8 turnovers entering the game. She committed just two against the Sun.

It remains to be seen if Reese will be able to replicate her latest playmaking success in their upcoming games, but what she showed is certainly a positive sign for a Sky team hoping to turn things around after a rough start to the season.
