Angel Reese Sends 5-Word Message to Coach After Sky Win

Back in March, after the Rose Basketball Club won the first-ever championship of the 3-on-3 Unrivaled league, the team's head coach--longtime assistant Nola Henry--was feeling celebratory. She had managed to lead her team to a win even without the league's leading rebounder, Angel Reese (12.1 per game), who was out with an injury.

One fan pointed out that even though Reese did not play, she had helped the team and had helped Henry develop as a better coach through her lineup suggestions. Henry responded on social media, "Angel makes everybody around her better ... iron sharpens iron."

Indeed, Henry was complimentary of Reese throughout their time together in South Florida. "A lot of people see the passions that she shows and take it negatively," Henry said. "But I love it. She's invested in the game, she is passionate about it. So every possession matters to her. ... That's part of collaborating."

On Saturday, Reese's WNBA team traveled to Dallas to face off against the Wings, and though it was a rough outing for Reese--she was 1-for-9 shooting in the first half and 4-for-13 overall--she was pleased to see Henry, who is now an assistant on Chris Koclanes's staff in Dallas.

The two met for an embrace at halfcourt. After the game, Reese sent a message on Twitter/X to Henry: "thanks for my pregame taco."

The Sky have won two straight games, both wins coming against the Wings. Reese is averaging 12.3 rebounds, but only 10.0 points on just 31.1% shooting from the field.  Chicago, at 2-4, will now have a full week off before facing the Fever next Saturday.
