Angel Reese is getting the last laugh after her Atlanta Dream reached the WNBA Finals with a sweep of the New York Liberty.
Reese scored 22 points with nine rebounds and two blocks in Atlanta’s 85-83 win over the Liberty to complete a three-game sweep at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Friday. It marks the first trip to the Finals for the Dream since 2013, and Reese’s first appearance there as a WNBA player.
On Oct. 10, 2025, Reese posted on X that she was “manifesting” a trip to the Finals. On Friday, she followed that post up by highlighting how she had essentially spoken the feat into existence 364 days earlier.

Reese has certainly earned the right to gloat a bit. A year ago, she was coming off a disappointing tenure with the Chicago Sky, where she had been stereotyped as a me-first player who did not significantly contribute to team success. Now she is an elite rebounding force on a WNBA finalist, and her critics have largely fallen silent.
Reese averaged 16.4 points and 12.1 rebounds per game for Atlanta in the regular season. She bolstered her scoring output even more in the playoffs to 18 points per game so far.
