Angel Reese Sends Message After Interaction With WNBA Champion

On Wednesday, Chicago Sky star Angel Reese shared a moment with a former WNBA champion and fellow Unrivaled teammate that has fans buzzing.

With Chicago still rebounding from their fourth straight loss in the 2025 WNBA season following a narrow 94-89 defeat to the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday, Reese offered a glimmer of hope for Sky fans.

She took to her Instagram story with a screenshot of a FaceTime call with former Sky champion Kahleah Copper alongside the caption, "Y’all know what it is ."

Copper won a WNBA title with the Sky back in 2021, and the two played together on Unrivaled's Rose BC earlier this year.

Chicago entered the 2024 season under new leadership, hiring Hall-of-Famer Teresa Weatherspoon as head coach.

Yet, uneven play down the stretch led to a 13-27 record, their worst winning percentage (.325) since 2006 and their first playoff miss since 2018.

Reese, however, provided a bright spot.

A two-time collegiate All-American, 2023 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player and 2024 SEC Player of the Year, Reese seamlessly transitioned to the professional ranks.

In her rookie season, she shattered WNBA rebounding records, averaging 13.1 rebounds per game (446 total), the highest single-season average in league history.

She earned All-Star honors, WNBA All-Rookie Team selection and finished among the league leaders in scoring with 13.6 points per game.

Copper, meanwhile, was a 2016 first-round pick out of Rutgers and blossomed into a star with the Sky.

In 2021, she led Chicago to its first WNBA championship, earning Finals MVP honors after averaging 17.7 points and 5.3 rebounds across 10 postseason games.

A four-time All-Star (2021-24), she led the Phoenix Mercury in 2024 with a career-high 21.1 points per game.
