Angel Reese quickly established herself as one of the biggest stars in the WNBA during her rookie season with the Chicago Sky.
Reese finished the season at No. 2 in Rookie of the Year voting, behind Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. Despite the loss to the league superstar, Reese was named a WNBA All-Star for her elite play in Chicago.
After the season, Reese launched her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast, where she's interviewed a plethora of sports figures, gaining insight on the public opinion of the WNBA.
During her latest episode with WNBA star DiJonai Carrington, Reese discussed the current league salaries.
Reese mentioned that rookie salaries are set to receive a pay bump and salaries will soon rise, but the Sky star warned that if WNBA players don't get what they "want," they'll potentially be sitting out of games.
"The women coming in, not this year, but next year," Reese said. " The ones coming next year, will still be on the rookie contract. The ones the year after, they going to get more than us, they probably going to be making more than us. I'm hurt... If y'all don't give us what we want, we sitting out."
After being drafted by the Sky with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Reese signed a four-year, $324,383 contract.
The Sky forward is set to make $74,909 in her sophomore year in Chicago.
During her rookie season with the Sky, Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds. Before suffering a wrist injury at the end of the year, Reese led the league in average rebounds and was the only rookie to average a double-double.
