Chicago Sky star Angel Reese averaged 14.7 points, a league-best 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in her second season in the WNBA. The 23-year-old’s campaign, however, was cut short by injury (and a suspension), which resulted in Reese missing the last four games of the season.
The former LSU Tigers star ran into a bit of trouble toward the end of her second season. The Sky benched Reese for one half after she threatened to leave Chicago if her objectives no longer aligned with those of the team. The two-time All-Star apologized for her comments, but it is clear that her statement did not sit well with the Sky brass.
Despite a rather tumultuous end to her season, Reese has remained one of the most popular stars in the WNBA. On the court, the 6-foot-3 forward was one of the few bright spots for the Sky, who finished the campaign with the second-worst record in the league at 10-34.
Outside the basketball court, Reese continues to be a highly influential sports personality. Apart from hosting her own podcast, “Unapologetically Angel,” the former SEC Player of the Year also has multiple endorsement deals with big brands, including PlayStation, Beats by Dre and Goldman Sachs, to name a few.
Reese also has a multiyear endorsement contract with Reebok, one of the world's biggest sports apparel brands. Reebok released Reese’s first signature shoe, the Angel Reese 1, in September in three colorways, and it sold out within minutes.
Building on that successful launch, Reebok announced on Friday that the latest colorway of Reese’s signature shoe will drop on Friday, Oct. 24, at 10 a.m. ET. The Sky star took to social media to share Reebok’s post about the Angel Reese 1 “Charm City.”
“Don’t miss out! ” she posted on X.

This is not the first time the purple colorway of the Angel Reese 1 was announced. In fact, it had already been revealed that it would hit stands by October. However, it was only on Friday that the new pair of kicks got its official release date.
"This one's for Charm City, to honor my roots and the community of Baltimore that has backed me from day one," Reese said. "This city gave me my grit and made me who I am today."
Once the shoe drops on Oct. 24, fans can purchase the pair on Reebok’s website for $120.
