Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark are among the most talked-about personalities in the WNBA. Their rivalry has brought millions of eyes to the sport. But there's a difference in how people perceive them.
While Clark is generally beloved, the same cannot exactly be said about Reese. She is often targeted by memes and trolls for her playing style. No doubt, Reese has got her fans, but the amount of hate she receives is also quite well-known.
One form of trolling is associating quotes with her that were never actually said by her. Although mostly light and humorous, some can become quite controversial at times. Well, on Friday, Reese spoke about it.
"Rent really be DUE. Can’t believe everything you read," she said on X, replying to a post from "I talk hoops". These fake quotes often become a reason for hate towards the star.
Despite having a good individual season, averaging 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists throughout the season, Chicago Sky played a disappointing game of basketball throughout. They went 10-34 in the regular season.
Judging by that and her successful participation in Unrivaled 2024, many expected her to be at Unrivaled again this season. But after the final roster announcement, her name was nowhere to be found. It seems Reese is going to focus more on the offseason.
There's also the injury factor. She struggled quite a bit this season, dealing with a back injury, which she aims to completely heal before the next.

Reese also recently got approval for trademarking her name. It is now the registered brand name of Angel Reese LLC, which ties down to her off-court business ventures.
Some months ago, she had also filed for trademarking the word "mebounds" which her haters coined when she used to miss her layup shots and catch her own rebounds. She plans on using the word on her merchandise.
