The Chicago Sky got a much-needed win on Sunday over the Connecticut Sun by a final score of 78-66. It wasn't pretty, but they pulled away in the fourth quarter on the strength of their defense and improved to a 3-7 record on the regular season.
Angel Reese led the way with 11 points, 11 assists, 13 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. It was her first triple-double in the WNBA since being drafted last year, and she became the second-youngest player in league history to notch a triple-double, behind only her rival Caitlin Clark.
At one point, Reese was seen enjoying a touching moment with Sun guard Saniya Rivers.

Rivers started her college career during the 2021-22 season with South Carolina. She came off the bench and helped the Gamecocks win the women's NCAA championship.
She transferred to North Carolina State for the following season and eventually grew into a strong defender who averaged 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocks a game as a senior. That was good enough to make her the No. 8 pick in this year's WNBA draft.
Unfortunately, Rivers' mother recently died due to a heart ailment, and her emotions are still tender as a result.
Reese, of course, was a college sensation, first at Maryland and then at LSU. In 2023, she averaged 23.0 points and 15.4 rebounds a game and led LSU to the national title over Clark's Iowa Hawkeyes.
She has been struggling with her shooting so far in her pro career. However, her rebounding and defense have given Chicago hope that it can become a competitive team relatively soon after it went 13-27 last season.
