Angel Reese’s Comment to Paige Bueckers Says a Lot About Their Dynamic

Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers and Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese are fierce rivals on the court. Off it, the two have built one of the WNBA's most adorable friendships.

The pair have remained close as both young stars navigate the professional ranks together.

Bueckers recently took to Instagram to give fans a glimpse into her world lately, sharing images from photoshoots and preseason action.

The 2025 Rookie of the Year made clear she is ready for the new season, which tips off May 9 for the Wings.

"We are so back," she wrote.

The post’s top commenter was none other than Reese herself. She showcased their incredible relationship dynamic with this response.

"my cutie patootie ," Reese replied.

Bueckers and Reese spent their summer together representing Team USA at the FIBA World Cup Qualifying tournament in Puerto Rico. The two were instrumental in the United States posting a perfect 5-0 record. Both stars also finished as runners-up in tournament MVP voting.

Bueckers now turns her attention to Year 2 with the Wings. The 24-year-old is coming off one of the most decorated rookie campaigns in WNBA history. Apart from Rookie of the Year honors, she earned All-WNBA Second Team, All-Rookie Team and All-Star selections. She averaged 19.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.6 steals across 36 games.

The early returns in 2026 are just as promising. Bueckers has helped lead the Wings to a 2-0 record in the 2026 WNBA preseason. In their last outing, she scored 11 points and dished out nine assists in a 101-84 win over the Las Vegas Aces.

As for Reese, she enters 2026 with plenty to prove in a new chapter. The Dream forward was traded from the Chicago Sky this offseason and is ready to make her mark in Atlanta.

Last year, Reese averaged 14.7 points, a league-leading 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 30 games.
