Angel Reese's Team Gets Ripped By WNBA Players

With the third-worst record in the WNBA, Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky have had a rough go of things in 2025. But they don't seem to have much respect from their WNBA peers either.

A recent survey of conducted by The Athletic asked 39 players what they think the "worst-run" WNBA organization is. The players pretty overwhelmingly chose the Sky, with over 40-percent of respondents calling them the worst-run organization in the league.

One player noted, “They’re still practicing in a rec center. That’s not… ideal.”

The Connecticut Sun, who have the worst record in the entire league, also ranked pretty poorly at 29.6-percent, while the Los Angeles Sparks ranked third at 14.8-percent. The Dallas Wings came in fourth at 7.4-percent.

WNBA fans didn't seem all that surprised to see the Sky at the top of the list:

"And thats why they cant get top FA. That FO is not interested in changing the horrible perception/reputation it has and then has the nerve to blame and fire their brand new coach for not being able to draw in FA. Comical. These players talk. They know what's up," one user remarked.

"This should come as no surprise there’s a new player trashing that organization every week," another wrote.

"Sky at #1 is the least surprising thing? Like, I have my complaints about Dallas but y'all W players have been telling horror stories about Chicago for YEARS."

"Based on the responses it’s mostly about the facilities. Ppl don’t want to be real. Phx has beautiful facilities so that attracts players but the actual organization gets sued every other day lol. So Chicago can turn this around if they wake tf up now."

It was only four years ago that the Chicago Sky won the WNBA championship, going 16-16 in the regular season before going on a tear in the postseason led by Courtney Vandersloot and Kahleah Cooper.

But ever since the departure of James Wade during the Sky have been rather rudderless.

After getting swept by the Las Vegas Aces in the 2023 playoffs, the Sky went just 13-27 in their first year with head coach Teresa Weatherspoon and rookie sensation Angel Reese. Weatherspoon was fired after the season and replaced by Tyler Marsh. But Marsh has found the WNBA to be a tough nut to crack even with over a decade of experience in college, the WNBA and even the NBA.
