Angel Reese's Words After Leaving the United States Say a Lot

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese had a rather eventful 2025 season. While she achieved a number of historic accomplishments in the process, it wasn't without controversy.

Reese finished her second campaign in the WNBA with averages of 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game. While her rebounding numbers dipped a bit, her scoring efficiency and other numbers improved.

While she missed the final four games of the season and ended up playing just 30 out of 44 games, Reese made history as the fastest player to reach 500 points and 500 rebounds. Her 12.6 boards also ranked as the second-highest rebounding average in a single season — only behind her rookie average.

However, Reese's run was marred by controversy, especially after she questioned Chicago's commitment to winning in an interview with the Chicago Tribune. The 23-year-old forward even went as far as to say she would consider moving on from the team "if things don't pan out."

Now, almost a week since the Sky's season ended after failing to make the playoffs, Reese reflected on her life and career with appreciation of everything she has accomplished.

On Instagram, Reese — who recently left the United States — shared a video of the ocean while visiting South America. She captioned her post, "Sometimes this is just all you need. I'm so grateful & thankful for this life man."

Reese has gotten her fair share of criticism throughout the WNBA season, but it hasn't deterred her. Her message made it clear that she has chosen to look at the bright side of her situation.

Reese's future with the Sky remains uncertain, especially considering her comments that the team deemed "detrimental." Whatever the case may be, she's appreciative of where she is right now — both in her personal life and career.
