After dominating Game 1 of their best-of-three playoff series with the Indiana Fever, the Atlanta Dream found themselves on the other end of a blowout in Game 2.
Indiana beat Atlanta 77-60 on Tuesday to even up the series and force a do-or-die Game 3 for both squads.
In Game 1, four players scored in double figures to help the Dream take the 80-68 victory. In Game 2, however, only two reached the double-digit mark and no one made more than 20 points.
Rhyne Howard — who had 20 in their previous outing — finished with just 10 points on 3-of-9 shooting. Rookie guard Te-Hina Paopao led Atlanta in scoring with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting.
Indiana's defense made the difference in the game, as Stephanie White's team limited the Dream to 25-of-66 shooting from the field.
The series now shifts back to Atlanta, where the Dream will hope to book a ticket to the semifinals while the Fever aim to pull off an upset amid an injury-riddled season.
Following their loss, though, the Dream were quick to ask their fans to show their support in Game 3, which is scheduled for Thursday at The Gateway Center Arena @ College Park.
"DREAM FANS! We need you in the building on Thursday night as we take on the Fever at home with the Semifinals on the line!" the Dream wrote, along with a promotion to buy tickets for the contest.
It remains to be seen if the Atlanta faithful will show up for the Dream on Thursday, but the No. 3 seeds can definitely use some help. Considering the massive following of the Fever, Atlanta can't afford to let the showdown feel like a home game for Indiana.
The Dream's home arena, the Gateway Center Arena @ College Park, has a capacity of 3,500 for basketball games.
