Star prospect Azzi Fudd will attend the WNBA Draft for the third straight year on Monday, but this time will be different. The 23-year-old will be picked this year after attending in 2024 and 2025 to support former UConn teammates Nikal Muhl and Paige Bueckers, respectively.
Fudd finished her five-year career with the Huskies this past season. The Washington, D.C. native averaged 17.3 points on 48.1% shooting (44.7% 3-point) with 2.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.5 steals in 28.7 minutes across 39 games for the Huskies. The squad lost 62-48 to No. 1 South Carolina in the Final Four, but it won the 2025 tournament with Fudd and Bueckers. Fudd won Most Outstanding Player honors for that tournament.
Fudd opened up about her outlook ahead of the 2026 draft on Saturday, via the Pull Up With Myles and Owen Podcast's Myles Ehrlich.
"Getting to cheer your teammates on and support them, it's so different than actually being in it," the 2026 first-team All-American said. "Just all of this, it's super cool. You can't really compare the two, but I'm super excited to now be the one sitting at the table..."
Asked if she felt stressed, she responded:
"I wouldn't say stressed. I'm definitely feeling a lot...There's a lot of emotions to unpack. A lot of newness. All of us are living out our dreams right now, getting to be invited, getting to go through all these things together, experience this. I think I'm really trying to take everything in. We had dinner last night, there were a bunch of players and vets there...They're giving such good information, such good advice. It's like information overload."

The Dallas Wings have the No. 1 pick in the draft for the second straight year. They used the top selection on Bueckers in 2025, who won WNBA Rookie of the Year and All-WNBA Second Team honors after averaging 19.2 points on 47.7% shooting (33.1% 3-point) with 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals in 33.3 minutes across 36 games.
The Wings could draft Fudd on Monday, which would reunite her with Bueckers as teammates. However, there are plenty of other star prospects to choose from, including TCU's Olivia Miles, Valencia (Spain's) Awa Fam, and UCLA's Lauren Betts.
The draft will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Monday in New York City and will be broadcast on ESPN.
