Breanna Stewart and many other WNBA players are quite excited about entering free agency in 2026. As per recent reports, high-performing players like Stewart will sign only one-year deals with teams as of now in order to become free agents again in the next year.

Player decisions like these are definitely not surprising since the Collective Bargaining Agreement in the WNBA will only begin in the next offseason. As a result, players will be able to bag better contracts when they are free agents in the next to next WNBA season. According to recent reports, not only Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty, but even Kelsey Plum of the Las Vegas Aces and Nneka Ogwumike have similar plans for their future deals.

Meanwhile, Breanna Stewart is getting ready for the inaugural season of the Unrivaled League which starts on the 17th of this month. Stewart and Napheesa Collier founded the unique 3-on-3 tournament so that female basketball players will have an opportunity to play during the offseason while making a substantial amount of money.

Breanna Stewart will play for the Mist basketball club, while Napheesa Collier will be a part of the Lunar Owls basketball club in the league. The first matchup of the league will feature a game between these two teams, as well as a game between the Rose basketball club and the Vinyl basketball club.

However, Brink will not be an active player in this season of the Unrivaled League as she is still recovering from her ACL injury. Instead, Brink fans can expect to see the star play in the next season of the league.

The Unrivaled League features six teams in total – the Laces basketball club, the Lunar Owls basketball club, the Mist basketball club, the Phantom basketball club, the Rose basketball club and the Vinyl basketball club. The league is expected to run for a period of two months, until mid-March of this year.
