The Atlanta Dream are looking to make it back-to-back wins on Friday as they return to action in another road game. They face a tough test at Gainbridge Fieldhouse as they battle Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, who are looking to make things right following their deflating 80-61 blowout loss at home against the Golden State Valkyries.

Nine-time All-Star Brittney Griner dropped 11 points and five rebounds in Atlanta’s win against the Valkyries in their last outing, and the 34-year-old veteran will be looking to build on that performance on Friday night against the Fever.

Before the matchup, Griner took to social media to send a brief message ahead of the Fever-Dream showdown.

“x Let’s get it ️TL,” she posted on Instagram.

Griner, who is playing in her first season with the Dream after spending her entire 11-year career with the Phoenix Mercury, has seen a significant dip in her production this term. From averaging 17.8 points per game last season in Phoenix as an All-Star, the 6-foot-9 center is now putting up just 10.0 points on 51.1% shooting, along with 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 23.2 minutes per contest. These numbers represent career-low marks for Griner, who first entered the WNBA as the No. 1 overall pick back in 2013.

Despite her drop in productivity, however, Griner has still been a key piece for the Dream this season. She’s been a vital part of the rotation, starting 17 games for the team thus far.

Entering Friday’s clash against the Fever, the Dream are fourth in the league with a 12-7 record, and there’s no denying that Griner has played her role in the team’s success this season.
