Caitlin Clark Addresses Questions About New Leg Sleeve

Caitlin Clark was seen wearing a sleeve on her left leg at the Indiana Fever’s practice on May 4th.

However, it does not appear to be anything serious, as head coach Stephanie White downplayed concerns about the guard wearing the leg sleeve at practice. “It’s a style thing,” White said with a laugh. And now, Clark herself has finally addressed the topic.

“I knew that would be the first question,” Clark said while shaking her head during Tuesday’s interview. “[It’s] just a little compression on the leg, I don’t know,” she added with a laugh in a clip shared on X by Chloe Peterson.

The sleeve was noticeable because Clark wore it on her left leg just days after hitting her kneecap against the floor during the Indiana Fever’s April 30 game against the Dallas Wings.

During that game, the 24-year-old briefly limped after a Flagrant 1 foul for landing space but still stayed in to shoot her free throws before exiting. Clark later told IndyStar there was no swelling or lingering issues.

There are several reasons players wear leg sleeves. Some use them for compression, some for warmth, or extra stability after injuries, while others simply wear them for style.

Many WNBA players regularly wear leg sleeves, including four-time MVP A’ja Wilson. Damiris Dantas, Aliyah Boston, Lexie Hull, and Sophie Cunningham also wear them regularly. Clark said hers was only for compression.

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever Eye Revenge Against Dallas Wings

Just seven days after their last matchup, the Indiana Fever will get a chance at revenge against the Dallas Wings at Gainbridge Fieldhouse following Dallas’ 95-80 win.

Despite the loss, Clark dropped 21 points in only 16 minutes, going 4-6 from the field while making 11 of her 13 free throw attempts.

Paige Bueckers led the Wings with 20 points, and the addition of first overall pick Azzi Fudd only makes them tougher. Since Bueckers and Fudd have played together since college, their chemistry created problems for Indiana.

For the Indiana Fever, the focus now is on fixing the problems from the first matchup: rebounding, second-quarter defense, and giving up 50 points in the paint.

But with Aliyah Boston and Tyasha Harris back, this should be a different Indiana Fever squad than the one Dallas faced a week ago. After giving up 50 points in the paint in the last game, Boston’s rim protection and physicality inside could be a boost when the teams meet again on May 9.

So, do you think Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will get revenge against the Dallas Wings this time?
