Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark had quite a lot to say during her guest appearance on NBC’s broadcast of Sunday’s game between the New York Knicks and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

For a second time this season, Clark put on an analyst hat for NBC. Her appearance at Paycom Center on Sunday follows her January broadcasting debut for the network, in a matchup between the Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Clark shared her thoughts on her impact on women’s sports in general. She also revealed that her favorite player in the world is Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.

Of course, Clark also talked about what’s ahead for the Fever in 2026.

Clark was limited to just 13 games for the Fever last season due to multiple injuries. She’s now back to full strength and is looking to bounce back in 2026.

However, as of writing, only three players are under contract for the upcoming season: Clark, Aliyah Boston and Mikayla Timpson. Indiana’s front office will need to negotiate new deals with the rest of the squad in free agency.

For Clark, she’s made it abundantly clear that the top priority is Kelsey Mitchell.

"We really only know about five or three people that are going to be on our team next year, but I feel like we have a great core,” Clark said. “Our first priority is to sign Kelsey Mitchell back. [She] was first team All-WNBA last year and is my running mate in the backcourt."

Mitchell had to carry much of the load for the Fever in 2025 with Clark sidelined. The 5-foot-8 guard played all 44 games in the regular season, averaging 20.2 points on 45.6% shooting, 1.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.5 triples in 31.4 minutes per contest. Apart from being named into the All-WNBA squad, Mitchell also finished fifth in the MVP race.

There is currently a lot of uncertainty surrounding Mitchell’s future with the Fever, though. While both parties have indicated a desire to extend their union, nothing is official until Mitchell signs a new contract.

Clark’s return will have a massive impact on the Fever. However, even Clark knows full well that Indiana needs Mitchell in its quest for a championship in 2026.
