The Indiana Fever pulled off a gritty 85–77 win over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night, but the good vibes didn’t last long. All eyes quickly shifted to Caitlin Clark, who appeared to tweak her groin late in the fourth quarter—an issue that clearly shook her up.

With less than a minute left, Clark found Kelsey Mitchell for a key assist. But right after the play, she grimaced and reached toward the top of her right leg. As she jogged back on defense, she signaled discomfort around her groin, a familiar sight given her recent injury history.

Clark has already missed time earlier this season due to groin and quad issues, making Tuesday’s scare all the more worrying. Cameras later caught her sitting on the bench, towel over her head, trying to keep composed as the final seconds played out.

Fever head coach Stephanie White gave a quick update after the game, saying Clark “felt a little something in her groin” and would be looked at further by team trainers.

WNBA All-Star Doubt Looms for Caitlin Clark’s Team

The timing couldn’t be worse.

Clark is set to lead Team Clark at this weekend’s WNBA All-Star Game, hosted at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. But that role may now be in jeopardy, just days before tip-off.

The 22-year-old has already sat out 10 games this year with lower-body issues, and she’s currently in the middle of a six-game shooting slump, connecting on less than 35% of her shots from the field.

Now, she’s considered questionable for both Friday’s 3-Point Shootout and Saturday’s All-Star Game—a major blow for fans who were looking forward to seeing her shine on her home floor.

The Fever and their fans will be hoping for good news, but for now, it’s a waiting game as Clark’s health becomes the biggest storyline heading into the WNBA’s marquee weekend.
