Caitlin Clark was playing in her second season with the Indiana Fever when the WNBA star suffered a brutal season-ending injury.

Clark played a minimal amount of games during her first season under head coach Stephanie White.

Clark had been working through a groin injury when she was ruled out for the rest of the season. The Fever also lost the following players to season-ending injuries: Sophie Cunningham, Chloe Bibby, Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson.

With several stars out of the lineup, the Fever have relied on players like Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell.

Given her importance to the team, Mitchell recently received an off-time bonus. She will earn $20,000 in the offseason. WNBA teams typically agree to these deals to refrain players from participating in other leagues, mainly to avoid injuries.

As for Clark, although she's widely regarded as the top player on the Indiana Fever's roster, the WNBA star is not eligible for the bonus.

Unfortunately for Clark, any player on a rookie scale contract is not eligible for an off-court bonus.

This may force Clark to play overseas or potentially in another league once she's fully rehabbed from her injury.

Throughout her second season in the WNBA, Caitlin Clark had posted 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game.

While she missed the majority of the season, Clark has also been ruled out for the playoffs.

Kelsey Mitchell recently concluded the regular season with the highest scoring average of any player in Indiana Fever history.

She capped off the season averaging 20.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

Mitchell will be receiving the $20,000 off-time bonus after the Fever conclude their season in the WNBA playoffs.
