While the Indiana Fever is gearing up to kickstart its season, Caitlin Clark expressed how coach Stephanie White is planning to push things forward through her key assets.
Undoubtedly, Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell made it to that asset list. And it seems like the coach sat the three down to hand out an invaluable insight, which the Fever 22 revealed during a recent press conference.
“This is your team. You know, you have to find a way to lead. You have to find a way to get your teammates to come along with you (and) hold them accountable,” Clark quoted White’s message. “You have to hold each other accountable… This needs to be a player-led team.”

Surely the coaching staff is there to supervise and boost player development. But once the players hit the hardwood and the whistle goes off, White mentioned that it wouldn’t be “the coaching staff’s team” anymore.
From then on, the players will have to take matters into their hands and hold each other accountable. It’ll “need to be (the players’) team.” Basically, White’s motif is to enhance Clark, Boston, and Mitchell’s leadership qualities.
The Fever roster has proved itself more than capable repeatedly, under many circumstances. And going forward, Clark believed that the team is ready to take up on White’s approach again.
Despite being a hospital team with significant players being sidelined, the team still pushed till the playoffs and won the Commissioner’s cup. And entering the regular season with a 2-1 preseason record, CC knew what was doable.
