Caitlin Clark’s run in the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico, was one for the books. The Indiana Fever superstar marked her return from injury with a tremendous tournament, helping lead Team USA to an unblemished 5-0 record.
Clark played just 13 games for Indiana in 2025. She spent eight months rehabbing her groin injury before finally making her highly anticipated comeback. The 23-year-old reminded the basketball world just what they were missing as soon as she returned.
In her Team USA debut, Clark dropped a 17-point, 12-assist double-double, leading her team to a 110-46 rout of Senegal in their tournament opener. The two-time WNBA All-Star did not let up from that point forward.
Clark played in all five of Team USA’s games in Puerto Rico. She made just one start, but averaged a team-high 21.2 minutes per contest. Clark finished her first-ever Team USA senior tournament with 11.6 points on shooting, 1.6 rebounds, a tournament-best 6.4 assists and 2.0 triples in five games.
FIBA rewarded Clark’s incredible play with the ultimate honor. She was named the tournament Most Valuable Player, beating out some of her U.S. teammates.
Clark received some more good news after her MVP win. FIBA announced that the Fever star has also been named part of the tournament’s All-Star Five.
Kelsey Plum of Team USA joins Clark as one of the five best players in the qualifiers. Megan Gustafson of Spain, Cecilia Zandalasini of Italy and Imani McGee-Stafford of Puerto Rico rounded out the All-Star Five.
Clark and the rest of the squad will now want to carry over this momentum to the World Cup in Germany. Team USA built a lot of chemistry in Puerto Rico, and they will need every bit of that for the big dance in September.
