The Indiana Fever got back in the win column on Tuesday, defeating the Washington Mystics 85-76. This was Indiana's first win since Caitlin Clark went down with a quad injury.
Through four games, the 2024 Rookie of the Year had been averaging 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 9.3 assists. Indiana went 2-2 in those games before dropping two straight after her injury. Now 3-4 on the WNBA season, Indiana has a few days off before facing the Chicago Sky at United Center on Saturday.
Clark will not be ready to return for that contest, but Indiana has received contributions from other players in her absence.
In Tuesday's game, fourth-year guard Lexie Hull was among the players who stepped up for Indiana. Scoring 14 points on 6-for-9 from the field, Hull also pulled down six rebounds and dished out four assists.
On Wednesday, the Fever made a "get to know" post on Instagram for Hull. Among other things, the Fever guard admitted a "weird thing" she loves is A1 and cheddar. This admission left Clark in disbelief.
"A1 and cheddar," she questioned. "What does that even mean ? she’s likes a1 sauce on cheese? Huhhhhhh"
Clark is known for taking playful jabs at her teammates on social media, and particularly Hull who she has a good relationship with. The two Fever guards vacationed together last summer, and have continued developing their on-court chemistry in year two as WNBA teammates.
With Clark still sidelined, Indiana will need Hull to step up again when the team travels to Chicago for Saturday's game against the Sky.
