Caitlin Clark will start her second WNBA season later this spring but not before she goes on a super big Netflix show.
David Letterman will interview the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year on an upcoming episode of "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction" with David Letterman. It's coming out on April 8 and Netflix teased the interview with a two-minute trailer on Monday afternoon.
She discusses her competitive drive and how she always wants to win, no matter what she's playing or doing. Clark discusses Halloween and how she'd sprint from house to house while trick-or-treating because she wanted to have the most candy.
"I loved Halloween. When we trick-or-treated in Des Moines growing up, I would be, like, so sweaty under my costume because I was in a dead sprint from house to house," Clark said. "Like I had to have the most candy. That's how I operated. My dad would completely lose me in the neighborhood and I would show back up at home, and my mom would be there giving out candy, and my mom would get pissed at my dad because it's like, 'Why did you lose our daughter?' Why is she running through the neighborhood by herself?' But, it was because I was just trying to beat everybody."
She had that competitive drive even as a kid and it has especially translated to basketball where she wants to be the best. Clark had an amazing collegiate career, helping Iowa get to the 2024 National Championship Game before she was selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Clark helped the Indiana Fever make the WNBA Playoffs in her first season, averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game.
She's hoping to bring the team to new heights in 2025 when the season starts in May.
