Tuesday's matchup against the Connecticut Sun wasn't just an ordinary regular-season game for the Indiana Fever. A spot in the Commissioner's Cup Final was on the line for them, and they were able to secure just that after their 88-71 blowout win against the Sun.
Caitlin Clark and Co., however, had to get a little help from the New York Liberty, who were in action against the Atlanta Dream during the Fever-Sun game. The Liberty were able to defeat the Dream, 86-81, which allowed Indiana to secure the No. 1 spot in the East, thereby setting up a Commissioner's Cup Final clash against the Minnesota Lynx.
After the win, reporters asked Fever coach Stephanie White if she was able to monitor the Dream-Liberty matchup during their game against Connecticut. The veteran shot-caller admitted that the "bench was tracking it."

Clark was seated right beside White when the latter made her admission. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year could not help but laugh after hearing her coach's candid remark. Clark also revealed that she wasn't even aware of the result until they walked off the court.
It's going to be a tough matchup for the Fever as they take on the Lynx in the championship game on July 1. Minnesota is the defending champion, and it was Napheesa Collier who won the Commissioner's Cup MVP title last year.
On top of that, the Lynx are the No. 1 team in the WNBA right now with an 11-1 record.
Be that as it may, there's no doubt that Clark and the rest of the Fever will bring it come July 1 as they look to do everything in their power to steal the title away from Minnesota.
