Caitlin Clark has missed the majority of her second season with the Indiana Fever.
Clark is widely regarded as one of the best players in the WNBA. She was set to take another massive step in her second season, but injuries have derailed that thought.
The WNBA star was recently ruled out for the remainder of the season. Indiana has also lost the following players to season-ending injuries: Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald, Sydney Colson and Chloe Bibby.
As Clark is out of the lineup, stars around the league are taking over during the 2025 season.
Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas has played her way into the WNBA MVP conversation.
She's taken over the spotlight in the facilitating category that Caitlin Clark once held. On Saturday, the Mercury made an announcement regarding the topic.
Thomas has officially passed Clark for the most assists in a single season. She has earned 338 assists in the 2025 season.

Caitlin Clark previously held the record for the most assists in a single season during her rookie year with the Indiana Fever. Last season with the Fever, Clark posted 337 assists.
She capped off her rookie season posting 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game.
Before suffering an injury that would force Clark out for the season, the Fever star was averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game.
Throughout the 2025 season in the WNBA, Alyssa Thomas has posted 15.9 points, 9.0 rebounds and 9.2 assists per game.
