Few athletes have transformed a sport the way Caitlin Clark has. Since entering the WNBA as the Indiana Fever’s No. 1 overall pick in 2024, Clark has helped the league shatter attendance and viewership records, turned casual observers into die-hard fans, and made women’s basketball must-watch television across the country.
On the court, Clark continues to draw widespread acclaim for a shooting range and passing vision that few players at any level can match. She remains one of the most recognizable athletes in American sports.
Her popularity has also drawn fan interest into her personal life, including her relationship with former college basketball player Connor McCaffery.
The two have been dating since April 2023, after they met as student-athletes at the University of Iowa, where both played for the Hawkeyes.
On Friday, Clark took to Instagram to mark their special anniversary, sharing a photo of herself and McCaffery:
“three years with my fav you’re the bestttt,” the two-time All-Star captioned the post.
Over the years, the two have made their mutual admiration a consistent theme on social media. After Clark became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA basketball history, McCaffery wrote on his Instagram Story that he was “so proud,” adding “Love you 22.”
More recently, Clark expressed her support to McCaffery when he announced his departure from Butler University, where he spent two seasons as an assistant coach under Thad Matta.
The anniversary post comes on the eve of Clark’s preseason debut against the New York Liberty. She last played competitive basketball for the Fever in July before she was ruled out for the rest of the 2025 season.
Tip-off for Indiana’s preseason game against New York is set for 3 p.m. ET at Barclays Center. It’s the first of two games as the Fever prepare to open the regular season May 9 against the Dallas Wings.
