Caitlin Clark may already be in the offseason, but she continues to be talked about, particularly in the sneaker community. News about the Indiana Fever star’s first signature shoes emerged on Friday.
She turned heads on Wednesday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for watching the Indiana Pacers-Philadelphia 76ers game. It was her first public appearance at the venue since the WNBA playoffs. Clark and the Fever qualified as the No. 6 seed after finishing the regular season with a 28-16 record. They faced the Las Vegas Aces in the first round.
Indiana pushed the series to a winner-take-all Game 3 on Oct 1. However, the team failed to dethrone the defending champions, losing 94-83 at Michelob ULTRA Arena. It was not the ending Clark hoped for, especially coming off a historic run. She broke several WNBA records, earned her third straight All-Star selection and was part of the Team USA roster in the FIBA Women’s World Cup.
Nike’s “Nothing to see here” campaign for the Caitlin 1s continued on Friday. The Swoosh brand released a new ad for its latest colorway, Jinx, including her story about her neighbor’s cat while growing up. The shoes feature a black mesh upper with a metallic green and black matrix pattern resembling a bubbling cauldron. The accents and double-stacked Swoosh logos have a slime-green glow-in-the-dark finish.
“Caitlin Clark is not a cat person,’ the narrator said. “When she was a kid, she was terrified of Jinx, her neighbor’s cat. She never forgot that cat. So when Caitlin grew up, she overcame her fear of Jinx by turning him into a pair of signature sneakers. Good thing Jinx has nine lives.”

The Nike Caitlin 1 Jinx released on Friday on Nike SNKRS Exclusive Access for $150. Sneaker experts expect the shoes to sell out quickly, as they came in time for Halloween. Nike will also reportedly release a few more silhouettes before the year ends.
