Caitlin Clark has taken the basketball world by storm over the past calendar year or so, and she has elevated the women's side of the sport to previously unimaginable heights.
As a WNBA rookie last year, she helped generate a spike in ratings, attendance and interest in the league. She has been described as a generational superstar, and she could very well be considered one of the first household names in the history of women's hoops.
Her popularity and visibility make her a perfect pitchwoman off the court as well. On Wednesday, Wilson announced that it is releasing a new line of signature basketballs under Clark's name and likeness.
The Indiana Fever star took to her Instagram account to react to the news.
There will be four basketballs in this new line, and Clark had input in the design of each of them. Wilson had previously made and sold several other Clark signature basketballs.
The sporting goods company has been the manufacturer of official WNBA game balls since the 2022 season. It has also made official game balls used in the NBA since the 2021-22 campaign, which was the league's official 75th anniversary season.
Clark, the 2024 Rookie of the Year, recently sat out five games due to a quad strain. She returned to game action on Saturday and had 32 points, nine assists, eight rebounds and two blocks in a win over the defending WNBA champion New York Liberty.
The Fever currently have a 6-5 record and have taken four of their last five games. On Tuesday, they defeated the Connecticut Sun to clinch a spot in the Commissioner's Cup final against the Minnesota Lynx.
