Sophie Cunningham's biggest moment with the Indiana Fever came in a June game against the Connecticut Sun. The WNBA veteran fouled Jacy Sheldon hard during the contest, grabbing her by the head and letting her fall to the court.

The moment came after Sheldon pokedCaitlin Clark in the eye and Marina Mabrey shoved the All-Star guard.

Ever since then, Cunningham has become the Fever's "enforcer." She was also a reliable backup guard and a starting option for Indiana, averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steal in 30 games played.

With that said, it's no surprise that Caitlin Clark was delighted to see Cunningham re-sign with the Fever this offseason.

Cunningham was an unrestricted free agent, and there were legitimate concerns that she could leave as she looked for a big payday after the season she had with Indiana. Fortunately, she and the Fever were able to agree on a one-year deal.

After the move, Clark was naturally hyped to see Cunningham return. On her Instagram Stories, the two-time All-Star shared the news by reposting the Fever's message about re-signing Cunningham.

Clark didn't write a caption in her post, but her excitement was clear. After all, she and Cunningham have developed a close bond on and off the court.

It's worth noting that when the Fever brought back Lexie Hull on Saturday, Clark also messaged Cunningham and asked her what she was doing. Sure enough, it didn't take long for Cunningham to sign her new contract with Indiana as well.
