Caitlin Clark Sends Clear Warning to Fever Teammates Before Iowa Return

Caitlin Clark will return to her alma mater this week, except she's bringing the Indiana Fever with her as they face off against the Brazilian National Team for a WNBA preseason game on May 4.

The point guard played for the University of Iowa women's basketball team from 2020 to 2024. Clark is the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I history for both men's and women's basketball and a two-time national player of the year. She was also the first pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.

In a recent press interview during the Fever's media day, Clark revealed that Carver-Hawkeye Arena, the home court for Iowa Hawkeyes men's and women's basketball teams, does not have air-conditioning.

"I warned everybody, there's not air conditioning in Carver-Hawkeye," Clark said. "Hopefully, it stays a little cool in there. I don't know what the humidity is looking like. We'll see how it goes, might be a little toasty."

Despite the less-than-ideal circumstances, the Iowa alum is excited to return to her alma mater. She also admits that she has only been back to Iowa City twice after graduation, once for a football game and again for her jersey retirement in February.

"I'm really excited; it should be fun. I can’t believe it’s already here," the 23-year-old athlete says. "It will be fun to get back there and see some of my former teammates and friends that are there. A lot of my family will be coming. I know they're excited."
