Tommy Fleetwood sits atop the leaderboard as the final round of the Tour Championship kicks off at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
It's a position Fleetwood has been in several times this year, but one he has not yet been able to capitalize on. In total, the 34 year-old Englishman has 30 career top 5s on the PGA Tour, an unfortunate record that Fleetwood is determined to beat: the most top 5 finishes without a win on the PGA Tour of any player over the past four decades.
Amid all of the close calls and heartbreaks, Fleetwood has been gracious and held his head high, participating in every post-round interview to talk to the media, even after the biggest of letdowns. Fleetwood is, quite simply, a class act.
Fans from around the world have taken notice, and Fleetwood's charming personality has garnered a massive following, all rooting for his first breakthrough win.
As Fleetwood teed off on the final round, words of encouragement poured in for Fleetwood, including a message from none other than WNBA Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark.
This has to be Fleetwood’s day

The two-time WNBA All-Star and 2025 WNBA Commissioner's Cup champion took to her X account to cheer Fleetwood on, expressing the hopeful sentiments shared by countless fans around the world: "This has to be Fleetwood's day."
For Fleetwood, it's a matter of when, not if, he will break through with his first PGA Tour win. Over the last two tournaments of the FedExCup playoffs, Fleetwood finished tied for third at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and tied for fourth at the BMW Championship.
To finally finish first at the Tour Championship, the season-ending tournament with 30 of the best players in the world, one of the biggest crowning achievements of professional golf, would be the ultimate mic drop.
