Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been shut down for the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season with a groin injury after playing in just 13 games, where she averaged 16.5 points, 5 rebounds and 8.8 assists per contest.

As the 23-year-old watches her teammates prepare for their second playoff appearance in as many years, many have wondered if fans will have to wait all the way until next season to see her back on the court.

With Napheesa Collier's and Breanna Stewart’s three-on-three Unrivaled league entering its second season in January, there’s always a chance Clark could return to basketball earlier — well before May 2026.

Clark chose not to participate in the league’s inaugural season earlier this year. On Wednesday, it was announced that Unrivaled will expand with two additional teams and 18 more roster spots.

Many WNBA stars suited up for the league last season, and with the expansion plus an opportunity to play competitive basketball sooner rather than later, it raises the question: Would Clark reconsider joining?

Unrivaled president Alex Bazzell spoke about Clark, revealing that there is no “current dialogue taking place right now” with her. However, he did mention, “Everyone knows that we want the best players. Everyone knows that if they’re interested, we always have spots.”

Clark has proven she brings eyeballs to women’s basketball, and her joining the league would do wonders for Unrivaled. Only time will tell if she’s interested this time around.
