While Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark is out with her second injury this season, she's still making history in the WNBA.

After missing five games due a left quadriceps injury, Clark is considered "day to day" amid a groin injury that's kept her out for two games. It's unclear if the 23-year-old superstar will suit up against the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday, July 1.

Fever head coach Stephanie White told reporters ahead of Indiana's 94-86 win over the Dallas Wings, that Clark's return depends on "her rehab, therapy and strength training" progresses over the weekend.

"She's tough and a quick healer, so we'll see," White added.

In the meantime, the WNBA made a huge announcement regarding the 2025 All-Star Game on June 25. After calculating the votes, the league's 2024 Rookie of the Year winner will be a team captain in this year's All-Star game.

Clark, along with Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx, earned the esteemed title. This marks Clark's second consecutive year as an All-Star and her first as a captain.

The top two players with the most votes get tapped for the captain honor. While Collier racked up 1,176,020 votes from fans, Clark received a record-breaking 1,293,526 votes.

Clark's boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, celebrated the news on his Instagram Stories on Sunday.

McCaffery, who celebrated his two-year anniversary with Clark in April, let the announcement speak for itself, and added no further comment to his girlfriend's incredible news.

Last year, Clark racked up 700,000 votes and was the league's highest vote-getter. In 2023, one year before the Iowa Hawkeye alum was drafted as the No. 1 overall pick, the highest vote-getter racked up 95,000 votes.

The team captains get to draft their team players ahead of the All-Star Game on July 19, which happens to take place at the Fever's home in Indianapolis at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
