Caitlin Clark’s Boyfriend Reacts to LeBron James’ Message for Fever Star
Jeffrey Becker

The Indiana Fever opened their 2025 campaign on Saturday evening at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, hosting the Chicago Sky.

The Sky are coming off a 2024 season that saw the team finish 13-27, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2018.

The Fever, meanwhile, finished the 2024 regular season with their highest win total since 2015 (20-20) and clinched the franchise’s first playoff berth since 2016.

Yet off-court, another highlight stole headlines: Clark’s longtime partner, Connor McCaffery, reshared on his Instagram story a photograph of Clark standing alongside NBA legend LeBron James.

James shared the initial photo on his personal Instagram before Clark's sophomore season debut, with the caption, "Good luck and DO YOU per usual this season!!! @caitlinclark22 ."

Clark finished her collegiate career at Iowa as the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer with 3,951 points, surpassing Pete Maravich’s 55-year-old mark, and claimed back-to-back AP Player of the Year awards (2022, 2023).

Drafted first overall by the Fever in April 2024, Clark’s rookie campaign was equally historic.

She averaged 19.2 points, a league-high 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game while breaking rookie records for assists (225) and three-pointers (122).

Clark became just the fifth rookie in WNBA history to make the All-WNBA First Team and secured Rookie of the Year honors with 66 of 67 votes.

Meanwhile, James, at age 40, carries an unparalleled resume as a four-time NBA champion (2012, 2013, 2016, 2020), four-time league MVP (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013), 21x NBA All-Star (2005-2025) and member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.

Now, as the Fever chases their first championship since 2012, Clark carries the approval of basketball’s most iconic figure.
